Summer Reading Program Begins – All ages

June 1

June 1st – August 7th

Join the SRP and help prevent “Summer Slide”. Children who don’t read during the summer can lose up to two months of learning by the time they return to school in the fall.

 How the 2026 Youth Summer Reading Program Works:

  1. Children and Teens register and set reading goals in-person at the Library starting June 1, 2026.
  2. Children ages 0-11 record books read/ teens ages 12-18 record hours read on a reading log provided by the library. Participants can choose their own reading material.
  3. Earn prizes for meeting your reading goals and attend fun events at the Library

How the 2026 Adult Summer Reading Program Works:

Rappahannock County Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program is for ages 18 and up. Read books, rate them, and give us tiny reviews to be entered into prize raffle drawings. Each book read, rated (number of stars), and reviewed (maximum of two sentences) is equal to one raffle ticket, and all information is recorded on the ticket itself. Up to 12 completed raffle tickets will be accepted per participant.

Raffle Prizes include gift baskets and gift cards.
