23 July 2021

The Rappahannock County Public Library Board of Trustees and employees extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to family and friends of Lois Snead.

At its meeting on 22 July 2021, the Board of Trustees resolved to formally express its sincere appreciation and gratitude for Ms. Snead’s long term and highly effective work which has supported the Library for many years.

As one of the founding members of the Friends of Library, Ms. Snead was instrumental in raising funds which helped to develop and grow the Library’s programs that reach out to the community and encourage literacy among Rappahannock’s young people. Ms. Snead advocated for the building of the Book Barn, which raises much needed funds for the Library’s gardens, summer reading programs and equipment, and also allows the community to purchase used books and other media at very affordable prices! Ms. Snead served as Treasurer of the Friends for many years, and contributed countless hours of dedicated and friendly volunteer service for the Friends.

The Board of Trustees is deeply grateful for her efforts on behalf of the Library and the positive and generous spirit with which she offered her time and energy to the Friends and the Library.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Sincerely,

Victoria R. Fortuna

President, Rappahannock County Public Library
