Summer Reading Program

June 15, 2020 – August 14, 2020

The Rappahannock County Library Summer Reading Program encourages reading through activities, prizes and programs for children and teens.

Registration for our 2020 Youth Summer Reading Program begins on Monday, June 15, 2020. Join the SRP and help prevent “SUMMER SLIDE” – Children who don’t read during the summer can lose up to two months of learning by the time they return to school in the fall.

2020 Summer Reading Program Basics:

1. Children and Teens Register/Set Reading Goals by calling (540) 675-3780, emailing rapplibrary@gmail.com, or signing up at the Library. For infants to rising 6th graders, please provide name, age, and a number of books to be read by August 14, 2020. For rising 7th-12th graders, please provide name, age, and number of hours to be read by August 14, 2020.

2. Record Books/Hours Read on a Reading Log provided by the Library. If it is more convenient, you may create your own Reading Log.

3. Earn Prizes for Meeting Your Reading Goals! Children receive prizes for meeting half of their reading goal, and again for meeting their entire reading goal. Teens receive a prize at the completion of the program.

Further details will be provided upon registration. Please let us know if you have any questions.
